Eco Group

Within our Eco group, we study the environment. We have meetings every second Tuesday to discuss a wide range of different ideas about saving the environment. Some examples of what subjects we cover include litter, water and electricity. We are also in charge of a big board in which we record the amount of water and electricity we have used in school each year - it is very interesting.

We also occasionally discuss ways to help the environment at assemblys. We recently did an assembly about not dropping litter and also the benefits of picking up litter. Sometimes, we are lucky enough to have some pupils from Firrhill High School coming down to help in our meetings. Recently we wrote a letter to Tescos complaining about the amount of plastic bags that were being dropped. We have not yet heard back from them. We are hoping to achieve our Bronze Award by the end of the summer term.
